Consultation with Popo's medical team

We met Dr Yong Chee Meng in Hospital Ampang. Based on CT scan result his advice was to identify the place of origin by Pipelle and then to do chemo to control the lung lesions before surgically removing the mass.

We reached Pantai Bangsar Hospital about 4pm and waited for Dr John Law clinical oncologist for his consultation.

He checked the CT scan and explained to us about the mass which is covering the uterus and ovaries and also multiple lung lesions, biggest one was measuring 2.2cm. There were no bowel obstruction so far but there were signs of ascites, pleural effusion, metastasis at L4.

He suggested to surgically remove the mass to relieve the symptoms and perhaps chemo after the surgery.

After his session we proceed to Gynae Onco Dr Paul Ng to schedule appointment for popo's surgery.

Popo looks worried, she didn't want to go for operation. But i believe this was the best choice for her to relieve her suffering. 

Family meeting #1

22nd March, Saturday

We had a family discussion about popo's condition after dinner at Cheras. For the first time I felt that the family gathering wasn't a happy one.

Popo has yet to know about the actual condition. She only knew that theres a huge lump in her uterus. She is also ready to go for operation if needed. However popo was glad to see all of us back. She has always been understanding that we are all busy with our lives. Since kong kong passed away, she has always been lonely. However as time passes, our time spend with her got less. 

The Sabah Snake Grass Therapy

21st March, 10pm.

Popo started with 100 leaves of Sabah Snake Grass today after obtaining from kuku's friend house. It was blended together with a green apple and lemon juice.

Able to sleep well.  No complaint of "cooling" side effects. Appetite ok.

The verdict

During this year CNY popo came to sg buloh and she complaint of lower abdominal pain. She thought was just stomach discomfort. She didn't dare take any mandarin oranges during the CNY.

8th of February, popo started to have some bleeding but she didnt tell any of us.

Went to see a GP early March, doctor thought was urinary tract infection, gave popo Ural and Efurox which made her urinate alot till it wet her own bed and the bleeding got more with the medication.

On the Saturday 18th March, popo told mom that she had menses. Uncle Daniel took her to see a doctor. Dr found the growth near popo's lower abdomen.  Mei Sze then suggested to refer her to Pantai Bangsar. Obtained referral letters from the Dr Gayatri in Pudu clinic.  Fixed appointment with the Dr. Eesan (gynea) from Pantai hospital in Bangsar on 20th March at 10.30am for investigation.

On the 20th of March, the verdict came.. it was suspected Ovarian Ca with metastasis to both lungs. The mass in the ovary was measuring 15-20cm. Lung lesions were about 2-3cm.

Since August 2013 popo has been having weight lost at about 1kg/month. Dr Anita that was following up with her did a tumour marker test. CA125 was normal then. Popo's weight went back up a few months later. Nothing was suspicious back then...
